REVAMPED POWER PLAY GOES 5 OF 8 AS RJ AND ATM LICK THE COMPETITION

THE LIONS WOULD RETURN HOME FOR THEIR HOCKEY FIGHTS CANCER GAME AGAINST THE SAINT VINCENT POLAR BEARCATS AT GALACTIC ICE ON FRIDAY NOVEMBER 15TH AND THEY WOULD BOUNCE BACK FROM LAST WEEKS TWO DIFFICULT LOSSES AND THE VICTIM WOULD BE THE POLARBEAR CATS.  LANTZ COMMENTED ON THE PAST WEEK FOLLOWING THE  LOSSES.  "WE HAD A REALLY GOOD WEEK AT PRACTICE, WHERE WE  RETOOLED OUR LINES, THE POWER PLAY, AND THE POWER PLAY BREAKOUT."   AFTER A CEREMONIAL FACE OFF AND PRESENTATION BY THE ALTOONA TRACKERS FOR A CANCER SURVIVOR THE LIONS WOULD START THE GAME QUICKLY,  SCORING 55 SECONDS INTO THE GAME, ON A GOAL BY FRESHMAN STEVE FEDENA FROM ANTHONY "ANT" BERTONE AND JACK LAWN.  THEN THE NEWLY FORMED POWER PLAY LINES OF ATM AND RJ WOULD TAKE OVER.  SOON AFTER THE LIONS WOULD SCORE THEIR FIRST OF FIVE POWER PLAY GOALS AS ANTHONY BERTONE (MEMBER OF ATM) WOULD TALLY FROM BRIAN KRUSER.  SAINT VINCENT WOULD CUT THE LEAD TO 2-1 ON A BREAKAWAY GOAL, BUT THAT IS CLOSE AS THEY WOULD GET.  THE LIONS WOULD GO BACK ON THE POWERPLAY AS RJ WOULD GET THEIR OPPORTUNITY, AND SOPHOMORE DEFENSEMAN KYLE LEES WOULD NOT DISAPPOINT, WITH SLAPSHOT FROM THE POINT,  ASSISTED FROM BEN KINCHRJ WOULD RETURN TO THE POWER PLAY AND LEES WOULD SCORE HIS SECOND FROM JEFF NELSON AND BEN KINCH.  PSUA WOULD FINISH THE FIRST PERIOD SCORING WITH A GOAL AT FIFTY-NINE SECONDS BY JEFF NELSON, ASSISTED BY BEN KINCH AND JACK LAWN AND WOULD PUSH THE LIONS LEAD TO 5-1.  THE POLAR BEARCATS WOULD OPEN THE SECOND PERIOD, CUTTING THE LIONS LEAD TO 5-2, BEFORE FRESHMAN DEFENSEMAN ADAM BADORREK WOULD ANSWER, ASSISTED FROM STEVE FEDENA.  THE RJ POWER PLAY UNIT WOULD SCORE ONCE MORE, BEFORE THE END OF THE SECOND PERIOD,  AS BEN KINCH WOULD PICK UP A POWER PLAY GOAL FROM JEFF NELSON AND JACK LAWN AND THE LIONS WOULD LEAD 7-2 AT THE END OF TWO PERIODS OF PLAY.  NOT TO BE OUTDOWN,  ATM WOULD ADD THEIR SECOND POWER PLAY GOAL OF THE GAME AS FEDENA WOULD SCORE HIS SECOND GOAL OF THE GAME, ASSISTED BY BRIAN KRUSER.  THEN AS TIME EXPIRED, JOSEPH "JOEY HOCKEY" BRITTON, WOULD SKATE ACROSS THE BLUE LINE ON A PASS FROM MIKE ANZIDEO, PUT HIS HEAD DOWN AND RIPPED A SLAPSHOT UNDER THE CROSS BAR AS THE LIONS WOULD DEFEAT SAINT VINCENT 9-2.  JOEY HOCKEY WOULD EARN THE TEAMS MVP OF THE GAME BELT. " I THOUGHT WE PLAYED REALLY WELL AS A UNIT TODAY AND THE POWER PLAY PLAY LEAD THE WAY.  THE BOYS HAVE MADE IT A COMPETITION BETWEEN THE TWO UNITS."  FOLLOWING THE GAME THE LIONS DEPARTED IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE GAME FOR A SATURDAY AFTERNOON CONTEST AGAINST EAST STROUDSBURG.
