CAL BEATS PSUA 7-1
Saturday, October 19, 2013
COMING OF A SUCCESSFUL ROAD TRIP AT GEORGE MASON THE PSUA LIONS WOULD RUN INTO ARCH RIVAL CAL AND THE RESULT WOULD BE DISAPOINTING. WHETHER IT WAS FATIGUE FROM THE 3RD GAME IN 3 DAYS OR JUST A BREAKDOWN, PSU WOULD BE OUTMATCHED ON THIS DAY. FOR THE FIRST 8 MINUTES THE LIONS PLAYED TOE TO TOE WITH THE VULCANS AND IN SOME CASES CONTROLLED THE PLAY. HOWEVER, A QUICK SHOT OF THE FACEOFF FROM THE POINT GOT THE VULCANS ROLLING AND THEY NEVER LOOKED BACK. CAL WOULD ADD A POWER PLAY, SHORTHANDED, AND EVEN STRENGHT GOAL BEFORE TANNER BAYLOR WOULD SCORE HIS FIRST COLLEGIATE GOAL AND THE LION'S LONE GOAL. FROM STEVE FEDENA AND ADAM BADORREK. "WE HAD A BREAK DOWN IN SYSTEMS AFTER THE FIRST EIGHT MINUTES AND WE WERE UNABLE TO MAKE ADJUSTMENTS." PSU WILL GET TWO MORE LOOKS AT CAL BEFORE THE SEASON IS OVER. FORTUNATELY THIS GAME COUNTED TOWARDS ACHA RANKINGS BUT NOT CHE. THE LIONS NEXT CONTEST IS BREAST CANCER AWARENESS GAME AGAINST PITT GREENSBURG AT CENTER ICE ON OCTOBER 19 AT 7PM. THEY RETURN HOME ON SUNDAY THE 20TH TO PLAY BLOOMSBURG AT 10:30AM.
