TEN MINUTES INTO THE SECOND PERIOD THE PSU LIONS WERE ON CRUISE CONTROL LEADING CAL 4-2 ON GOALS BY AUSTIN HYATT, BEN KINCH, KYLE LEES, AND CJ DUNTON. THEN THE BOTTOM FELL OUT. THE LIONS HAD THEIR TYPICAL IN GAME LETDOWN, SURRENDERING FIVE STRAIGHT GOALS TO THE VULCANS. SHANE WINTERS WOULD TALLY A LATE GOAL, PULLING THE LIONS TO WITHIN 7-5. WITH THE GOALTENDER PULLED, THE VULCANS WOULD SCORE AN EMPTY NET GOAL. "WHEN YOU PLAY A TEAM AS GOOD AS CAL, YOU CANT AFFORD TO TAKE SHIFTS OFF OR MAKE MISTAKES. TONIGHT WE DID BOTH. IN ADDITION TO SEVERAL UNDISCIPLINED PENALTIES. YOU ARE NOT GOING TO WIN VERY MANY GAMES PLAYING SHORTHANDED FOR SELHFISH PENALTIES. ZACH SHEIRKO STOPPED 31 0F 39 SHOTS.
