DIEHL'S FOUR GOALS LEADS PSUA COMEBACK AGAINST PITT GREENSBURG

PENN STATE ALTOONA OPENED UP THE 2011 SEASON WITH A COME FROM BEHIND WIN. THE LIONS WOULD STRUGGLE THROUGH A SHAKY FIRST PERIOD BEING OUTSHOT 22-10. THE LIONS WOULD TRAIL 2-1 AFTER GIVING UP 2 POWER PLAY GOALS. FRESHMAN DEFENSEMAN SHANE WINTERS WOULD SCORE A POWER PLAY GOAL OF HIS OWN ASSISTED BY SOPHOMORE MATT KELLEY. PSUA WOULD TIE THE GAME IN THE SECOND PERIOD ON A SHEA WALDRON GOAL ASSISTED BY NATE DOLAN AND PETER REVEILLE. PITT GREENSBURG WOULD STRIKE EARLY IN THE THIR PERIOD SCORING TWO GOALS IN THE FIRST TWO MINUTES. SOPHOMORE JASON DIEHL WOULD THEN TAKE OVER THE GAME SCORING THE NEXT FOUR GOALS ENROUTE TO A LIONS 6-4 WIN. FRESHMAN CHRIS STRIEBIG AND SHANE WINTERS WOULD ADD AND ASSIST A PIECE. MAKING HIS FIRST START IN GOAL WAS FRESHMAN DAVE WINEGARDEN WHO WOULD GET HIS FIRST COLLEGIATE WIN STOPPING 34 OF 38 SHOTS.
