Kinch's 5 Goals Helps Altoona Clinch South Division Title

On February 6, 2010 at Galactic Ice, Freshman Patrick Kinch would spearhead a Lions attack with 5 goals in a 9 to 7 win over Penn State Behrend. The win would also give PSU Altoona The South Division Title and a first round bye in the playoffs. This would be the second division title in PSU Altoona's history. Goals were plentiful in this game as lack of defense was evident for both teams as 16 goals were scored between the two Penn State teams. Jeff Rossi would strike first for Penn State Altoona assisted by Greg Johnson and Joe Fiazzo. Will Gaffney(2 goals and 2 assists) would score the next two PSU goals, giving PSUA a 3-2 lead at the end of the first. John Balog would score his first collegiate goal of his career short handed to start the second period. But PSU Behrend would strike back to tie the game at 4. Then Patrick Kinch stole the show with the next 5 goals for Penn State Altoona. Other notables in the game...Greg Johnson 4 assists, Bryan Koronowski 2 assists, Joe McGoldrick 2 assists, and Joe Fiazzo 2 assits. However, the win would not come without a price. Freshman Greg Johnson would break his ankle in the third period, which is a devastating blow to the Lions.
