THE LIONS WOULD STRIKE FIRST BLOOD AGAINST LIBERTY ON THE FIRST SHIFT OF THE GAME, WHEN FRESHMAN SHEA WALDRON, WOULD DEFLECT A TYLER BAGAROZY SHOT PAST LIBERTY GOALTENDER HYLAND. FRESHMAN ANDREW PLATE'S GOAL AT 9:40 OF THE FIRST PERIOD, WOULD BREAK A 2-2 TIE, AND THE PSU LIONS WOULD NEVER LOOK BACK EN ROUTE TO A 6-2 VICTORY. PLATE WOULD FINISH THE CONTEST WITH TWO GOALS AND AN ASSIST. FRESHMAN TREVOR FISK, PLAYING ALONGSIDE PLATE, WOULD CONTRIBUTE A GOAL AND AN ASSIST. ALSO SCORING FOR THE LIONS WOULD BE SOPHOMORE GREG JOHNSON AND SENIOR CAPTAIN, JOE MCGOLDRICK, WHO WOULD LATER CELEBRATE HIS TALLY WITH THE "BERNIE DANCE." GOALTENDER CHRIS RYAN WHO GAVE UP TWO GOALS ON SEVEN SHOTS IN THE FIRST PERIOD, WOULD SETTLE DOWN AND SHUT THE DOOR ON LIBERTY TURNING AWAY THE NEXT TWENTY THREE SHOTS. "CR" MADE SOME SPECTACULAR SAVES LATE IN THE GAME TO GIVE THE LIONS THEIR THIRD WIN IN 2011. THE LIONS NEXT OPPONENT IS NEUMANN COLLEGE FRIDAY JANUARY 28. FACE-OFF IS SCHEDULED FOR 5:30 PM.
