THE LIONS WOULD BEAT SAINT VINCENT 6-4 SUNDAY AND RIDE THE SHOULDERS OF SOPHOMORE JAMSEY ROSSI'S HAT TRICK TO THEIR FIRST VICTORY IN 2011. ROSSI CONTINUES TO MAKE HIGHLIGHT MATERIAL. ON HIS FIRST GOAL, WITH A DEFENDER HOLDING ONTO HIM, ANOTHER DEFENDER SPRAWLING ACROSS THE ICE, AND THE GOALTENDER LYING IN WAIT, SOMEHOW ROSSI WAS ABLE TO DAZZLE SPECTATORS AND TEAMMATES AS HE ROOFED THE PUCK OVER THE GOALTENDERS SHOULDER. WITH THE GAME 5-4 JAMSEY WOULD SCORE HIS THIRD GOAL OF THE GAME AND ICE THE WIN FOR THE LIONS. SOPHOMORE ROB MATTERN WOULD STRIKE FIRST BLOOD AFTER RECENTLY BEING PROMOTED TO THE FIRST POWER PLAY UNIT. FRESHMAN SHEA WALDRON WOULD NET THE GAME WINNER ALSO ON THE POWER PLAY. PSU ALTOONA WOULD HAVE 3 POWER PLAY GOALS FOR THE AFTERNOON, WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE THE DIFFERANCE MAKER IN THE GAME. SAINT VINCENT JUST COULD NOT STAY OUT OF THE PENALTY BOX, AND IN THE END IT WOULD COST THEM THE GAME. CHRIS RYAN WOULD STOP 39 OF 43 SHOTS EN ROUTE TO HIS TENTH WIN OF THE SEASON. THE LIONS PLAY BACK TO BACK GAMES AGAINST LIBERTY UNIVERSITY THIS NEXT WEEKEND.
