THE LIONS TRAVELED TO VINELAND, NJ TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 16 TEAM TOURNAMENT DUBBED "THE CLASSIC". THE TOURNAMENT WOULD FEATURE TEAMS FROM FOUR DIFFERENT CONFERENCES (COLLEGE HOCKEY EAST, EMPIRE LEAGUE, BLUE RIDGE HOCKEY CONFERENCE, AND DELAWARE VALLEY COLLEGE HOCKEY CONFERENCE) PSU ALTOONA WOULD PLAY 3 TEAMS IN 3 DAYS, AND HELP COLLEGE HOCKEY EAST CAPTURE THE CLASSIC CROWN. PSU ALTOONA WOULD PLAY GAMES AGAINST RICHARD STOCKTAN, UNC WILLMINGTON, AND FAIRFIELD UNIVERSITY. THE LIONS WOULD OPEN TOURNAMENT PLAY WITH A THRILLING OVERTIME SHOOTOUT WIN AGAINST RICHARD STOCKTAN. SOPHOMORE JAMSEY ROSSI WOULD HAVE 2 GOALS AND AN ASSIST IN REGULATION, THEN ADD THE GAME WINNER IN A SHOOTOUT SNIPING THE GOALTENDER OVER HIS SHOULDER. WILL GAFFNEY WOULD ALSO ADD 2 GOALS AND AN ASSIST. GREG JOHNSON WOULD HAVE A GOAL AND AN ASSIST. PATICK KINCH AND ANDREW PLATE WOULD BOTH FINISH THE GAME WITH 2 ASSISTS A PIECE. CHRIS RYAN WOULD STOP 37 OF 43 SHOTS. PSU ALTOONA WOULD FACEOFF AGAINST UNC WILLMINGTON AND COULD NOT CATCH A BREAK. EVERY BOUNCE WENT UNC'S WAY AND THE LIONS WOULD GET TROUNCED 7-3. AJ DEFAZIO, WILL GAFFNEY, AND JOE MCGOLDRICK, WOULD SCORE FOR THE LIONS. RYAN WOULD STOP 23 OF 30 SHOTS IN THE LOSS. AFTER A LACKLUSTER PERFORMANCE AGAINST UNC WILLMINGTON, CHRIS RYAN AND THE LIONS WOULD BOUNCE BACK AND PLAY ITS BEST GAME OF THE SEASON, BEATING FAIRFIELD UNIVERSITY 3-0. COACH LANTZ STATED "THIS WAS OUR BEST DEFENSIVE PERFORMANCE OF THE SEASON." ROB MATTERN WOULD SCORE FIRST AND THAT IS ALL THE LIONS WOULD NEED. FRESHMAN SHEA "JUSTN BIEBER" WALDRON WOULD SCORE HIS FIRST GOAL OF THE SEASON, AND PATICK KINCH WOULD FINISH THE GAME WITH AN EMPTY NET GOAL. CR WOULD STOP ALL 30 SHOTS IN THE SHUTOUT EFFORT.
