FRIZZI BLANKS CAL U FOR 2ND CONSECUTIVE SHUTOUT

Dominic Frizzi has put together a string of 120 minutes of shutout hockey with his 2nd win against CHE rival CAL U. Frizzi would turn away all 18 shots that he would face as the Lions would dominate the Vulcans in a 6-0 win. Brian D'Aguanno would score the game winner in the first period assisted by Strang. Later in the first Max Frearson would go bar down to give the Lions a 2-0 lead after the first period. PSU would continue its assult on Cal's goalie tallying three times in the second period. Christian Strang would get his 5th goal of the season assisted by D'Aguanno. Danny Connell would score his first collegiate goal (assisted by Dylan Lempe)then Andrew Duey would find the back of the net (D'Aguanno), giving the Lions a 5-0 lead after two. Then in the third period with PSU on the Power Play JP would score his first collegiate goal from Halpin and Matz. Coach Lantz had this to say about his teams effort. "Its always important to get that first win in league play for the CHE. We came out and out shot Cal 63-18." In response to Paulina's goal. This is why we coach. Here is a kid who just started playing ice hockey and he scores his first collegiate goal. His teammates on the ice dog piled him and the bench erupted. And then there was JP's smile from ear to ear.
