Wednesday, February 15, 2017

The College Hockey East Playoffs are set and the PSU Nittany Lions are the number one seed. PSU will face-off against the Saint Vincent Bearcats for the seventh time in the past two seasons. The first round of the playoffs will be played at Rostraver Ice Garden in Belle Vernon on Friday, February 24th at 7:30PM. The winner will advance to the league championships at noon on Saturday, February 25th. Both these teams played in last years championship in which the Lions won 5-2. Standing in the Lions way of going back to the finals is Saint Vincent's goalie Shane Brudnok, who is a main reason for the Bearcats success. PSU's line of Mike Lassik, Armen Asdourian, and Mike Pilla have been clicking on all cylinders the past four games. The winner of the College Hockey East Championship earns a berth into the NCHA National Tournament, in Buffalo, NY, March 24-26th.
