GILCHRIST AND LION'S POWER PLAY NO MATCH FOR PITT-GREENSBURG

FRESHMAN GOALTENDER STEVE GILCHRIST EARNED HIS SECOND WIN OF THE SEASON TURNING AWAY 21 OF 22 SHOTS AGAINST THE BOBCATS OF PITT-GREENSBURG. GILCHRIST PLAYED A SOLID GAME HOLDING THE BOBCATS AT BAY UNTIL THE LIONS OFFENSE GOT ON TRACK. NICO GICCO WOULD GET THE LIONS ON THE BOARD AT 4:38 OF THE FIRST PERIOD ASSISTED BY MITCH RUPPRECHT. THEN THE LIONS POWER PLAY WOULD TAKE OVER THE GAME. WITH :58 SECONDS REMAINING IN THE FIRST PERIOD MATT LITTLER WOULD TALLY WITH THE MAN ADVANTAGE FROM FRESHMAN MIKE LASSIK. LIONS WOULD LEAD 2-0 AT THE END OF THE FIRST. THE LIONS WOULD GO BACK TO WORK IN THE SECOND PERIOD AND IT WOULDN'T TAKE LONG UNTIL FRESHMAN DEFENSEMAN SEAN DOLAN WOULD SCORE HIS FIRST COLLEGIATE GOAL FROM THE POINT ON A PERFECTLY EXECUTED SCREEN BY JEFFHAGAN (LITTLER ASSIST). MITCH RUPPRECHT WOULD GIVE THE LION'S A 4-0 LEAD WITH A POWER PLAY GOAL LATE IN THE SECOND PERIOD. TYLER GERHOLD APPEARED TO HAVE GIVEN THE LION'S A 5-0 LEAD AS TIME EXPIRED, BUT THE REFS DEEMED TIME HAD EXPIRED. MIKE LASSIK WOULD FINNALY FIND THE BACK OF THE TWINE WITH HIS FIRST COLLEGIATE GOAL AS IT ALSO CAME ON THE POWER PLAY FROM LITTLER AND HAGAN. WITH 2:42 REMAINING PSU WOULD LOSE THE FACE OFF IN THEIR ZONE AND THE BOBCATS WOULD END GILCHRIST'S BID FOR THE SHUTOUT.
