ROUGH START FOR PSUA AGAINST UPJ

Monday, October 13, 2014

It's always tough starting a new season with a completely revamped team, its particularily difficult opening up the season against last season's College Hockey East champions.  And the UPJ Icecats left no doubt why they were the champs.  They lost very few players and are a very deep and talented team.  When you turn over a new team every two years, and primarily are made up of freshmen and sophomores going against 4th and 5th year seniors, you are going to face some adversity.  UPJ struck early and often, in running up the score 16-2.  Scoring for the Lions were freshmen Nico Gricco (assisted by Armen Asdorian) and Zach Lyons (power play assisted by Armen Asdorian.  Coach Lantz had this to say about his team.  "We were sloppy in all aspects of the game.  We will get better and we will fix this!"
