PSU ALTOONA HISTORY WOULD BE MADE ON JANUARY 26, 2014 AS THE LIONS WOULD TRAVEL TO STATE COLLEGE TO PLAY AT THE BRAND NEW PEGULA ARENA, IN A BATTLE OF COMMONWEALTH CAMPUSES, AGAINST PSU BEHREND.  THE TEAM WOULD ARRIVE AT THE RINK EARLY TO TAKE IN THE AWE FACTOR OF THIS AMAZING FACILITY.  THE LIONS WOULD ACTUALLY DRESS IN THE VISITING TEAM LOCKER ROOM, WHERE  DIVISION 1 BOSTON COLLEGE HAD DRESSED THE NIGHT BEFORE.  PSUA ALTOONA FIGHTING NOT ONLY FOR PRIDE, BUT ALSO A PLACE AT REGIONALS, FOCUSED ON THE IMPORTANCE OF THIS GAME.  THE LIONS WOLD STRIKE FIRST BLOOD AT 14:12 OF THE FIRST PERIOD, AS FRESHMAN TANNER BAYLOR WOULD SCORE THE FIRST EVER GOAL FOR PSUA AT PEGULA ARENA ASSISTED BY COLLIN SMAY.  PENN STATE WOULD CONTINUE THE SCORING AS POWER PLAY "RJ" WOULD STRIKE AS FRESHMAN LUK DEVORSKI WOULD TALLY FROM JEFF NELSON AND KYLE LEES.  "RJ" WOULD STRIKE AGAIN IN THE THIRD PERIOD AS BEN KINCH WOULD SCORE ON THE POWER PLAY FROM LEES AND DEVORSKI.  BEHREND WOULD END SHERIKO'S SHUTOUT BID WITH 25 SECONDS REMAINING.  SHERIKO WOULD TURN AWAY 29 OF 30 SHOTS, LEADING PSUA TO A 3-1 VICTORY, EARNING THE MVP BELT FOR THE THIRD TIME.  COACH LANTZ HAD THIS TO SAY.  "FIRST OFF I WOULD LIKE TO THANK TERRY AND KIM PEGULA FOR GIVING PENN STATE ALTOONA THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY AT SUCH A BEAUTIFUL FACILTIY.  SECONDLY, THANK YOU TO THE ENTIRE PEGULA STAFF FOR BEING SUCH WONDERFUL HOSTS.  THIS WAS TRULY A MAGINIFICENT OPPORTUNITY FOR THE BOYS BEING ABLE TO PLAY AT PEGULA DURING THE INNAUGURAL SEASON, THAT THEY WILL REMEMBER AND CHERISH FOREVER."
